Ìrìnkèrindò: a Journal of African Migration is a peer-reviewed journal devoted to the study of African migration and immigration to other parts of the world. Since 2002, the journal has provided a forum for scholars and analysts of African immigration and migration as well as activists throughout the world to participate in debates, exchanges of ideas, and the creation and documentation of knowledge. Ìrìnkèrindò is Yorùbá for incessant Wanderings or Travels. To our minds, the word, Ìrìnkèrindò captures the essence of past, contemporary, and future migrations and immigration of Africans around the continent, and from the continent to other lands.
In order to advance the research of African migration, IJAM is committed to the timely publication of relevant, interesting, tightly argued essays for an interdisciplinary audience that is comprised of scholars and non-scholars with an interest in African immigration/migration. As such, potential reviewers should be willing to dedicate the necessary time (3-5 hours per manuscript reviewed) to provide a critical analysis and an assessment of the overall quality of article submissions. Reviewers are asked to provide constructive feedback to authors and maintain confidentiality.
If you are interested in reviewing manuscripts, please email the Editor Mojúbàolú Olufúnké Okome (mojubaolu@africamigration.com) and the Editorial Assistant Maryna Tkachenko (maryna@africamigration.com) with your curriculum vitae and a list of your areas of research interest and expertise.
